Hey guys! Thanks so much for those who made it out for another fun get together!\u00a0 If you didn’t make it you were so missed!\u00a0 I hope we can catch up next time.\u00a0 This month we proved that we don’t have to like or even actually read the books we borrow from each other to have a fun discussion!<\/p>\n
I failed miserably.\u00a0 I borrowed Ashley’s Wild Beauty by Anna Marie McLemore and Matt’s copy of Quiet by Susan Cain and didn’t read either one.\u00a0 I did get through a thriller, Lie to Me by J.T. Ellison.\u00a0 Maria is borrowing it this month.<\/p>\n
Ashley borrowed Spook by Mary Roach from Don but didn’t finish it.\u00a0 She also read From Here to Eternity; Traveling the World to Find the Good Death by Caitlin Doughty, which was just as it sounds.\u00a0 Also Mem by Bethany Morrow.\u00a0 I’m going to borrow it this month and give SciFi another shot.<\/p>\n
Ross borrowed Sasha’s Mitch Albom, The Next Person You Meet in Heaven and hated it as much as I did last month. Sorry Sasha, sorry Mitch. But, she enjoyed The Death of Mrs Westaway by Ruth Ware that Shana and I had read. She is still working on The Only Woman in the Room by Marie Benedict.<\/p>\n
Matt bailed on my scifi pick from last month, Swan Song by Robert McCammon.\u00a0 Life is too short to read bad books.\u00a0 He really liked Bad Blood\u00a0 by John Carrerou and now we are all going to have to watch the documentary.\u00a0 Ross is borrowing that one this month.<\/p>\n
Maria liked my pick, One Day in December by Josie Silver.\u00a0 Ross is giving that one a try this month too! She also read Steven King’s The Long Walk. Excuse me while I go google the ending I feel like I need to remember now.<\/p>\n
Shana didn’t make it through Matt’s Going Clear by Lawrence Wright.\u00a0 But she’s on a chick lit kick and she got to read The Bride Wore Size 12 by Meg Cabot on her e-reader.<\/p>\n
And, let’s not forget Ruthann’s scathing review of Ross and my loved Rosie O’Donnell memoir Find Me. We all got a great laugh about the exactness of that critique.\u00a0 Jaye, if you’re reading, we were all thinking of you. Miss you.<\/p>\n
I love that we all have our own reading preferences but still try out each other’s picks.\u00a0 I have really enjoyed reading outside my normal choices.\u00a0 And, it’s always fun to hear everyone’s take on their books! Thanks again for making book club so special. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
