Don borrowed Ross’s “favorite book of all time,” The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom.\u00a0 He is almost finished, only 20 pages left!\u00a0 I can’t wait to hear what he thinks when it all connects at the end.\u00a0 He also brought in a book he read a while back called The Harrad Experiment by Robert H. Rimmer.\u00a0 He wondered if it is too “racy” for book club, so I’ll be looking forward to checking it out this month.<\/p>\n
I enjoyed reading through Jaye’s thesis book Contagious, Why Things Catch On.\u00a0 I also was excited to read a newly published book, The 7 1\/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton.\u00a0 I can’t wait for Jaye to read it this month so she can help my understand what I read. I also brought in a book by a local author, A Knife in the Fog, by Bradley Harper.\u00a0 Don is borrowing that this month.<\/p>\n
Jaye, after reading Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik, read her first book, Uprooted. Uprooted, one of my favorite books, is a fantasy with a lot of fairy tale elements. Maria is going to borrow it this month. She also read Shana’s pick from last month, Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. She also really enjoyed The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, by Taylor Jenkins Reid.<\/p>\n
Shana read Jaye’s pick from last month, Fashion Victim by Amina Akhtar. This month Ashley is borrowing it. She also read a local book, Hampton’s Haunted Houses.<\/p>\n
Maria read Tuesday’s with Morrie by Mitch Album.\u00a0 She enjoyed the uplifting positive message about life.<\/p>\n
Matt finished Sons of Cain: A History of Serial Killers by Peter Vronsky. It was a chronology of serial killers through human history.\u00a0 Matt enjoyed the second half of the book and the more modern methods of exploring behavior from a psychological perspective.<\/p>\n
Christiana read Shana’s pick from last month, Prisoner of Night and Fog, by Anne Blackman.<\/p>\n
Ashley shared the first in a YA fantasy series, Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova<\/p>\n
Ross discussed books by local authors she has met this year: Pamela Covington’s book A Day at the Fare and Something Better by Melissa Mattie.\u00a0 Jaye is borrowing Something Better this month.<\/p>\n
